Take a ride in the delightfully quirky city of Eugene, Oregon

Have you ever seen someone dressed as a slug? And have you seen that person ride an e-scooter? Now that we’ve rolled out our service in Eugene, we’ve seen a Slug Queen ride a scooter, and it was as joyfully quirky as you’re imagining.

Eugene, for those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of visiting, is a medium-sized city in Oregon, and home of the University of Oregon. In addition to the campus, Eugene has several bungalow-filled neighborhoods, a gorgeous riverfront trail, a deep running track record, and a delightfully weird attitude.

Eugene deserved a great launch party, and we had fun! Slug Queen Sativa Slugworth, also known as Alyssa Buttons-Garten joined for a ride, as did Eugene Emeralds baseball mascot Sluggo, and Lady Liberty runner.

Eugene is a unique scooter city for Superpedestrian, since we are working with the local nonprofit operator Cascadia Mobility, who is also the operator for Eugene’s bikeshare system. We are very excited for this collaboration, since Cascadia Mobility has a record of excellence, and is already deeply embedded in the community. Speaking of community, Eugene riders can apply through the app, website, or by phone for the LINK-Up program, which will give a 70% discount to income-qualified riders.

We’re excited to get to know this quirky and lovable community even better. So far, we love it!
